At IST we understand the importance of balancing different aspects of our lives – intellectual, physical and emotional – to achieve wellbeing for ourselves and others.
We also recognize our interdependence with other people and with the world in which we all live, and to this end we balance our rigorous academic programme provision with a variety of co-curricular, service, and leadership experiences and opportunities geared to meet the differing interests and developmental levels of our students.
IST offer three 10-week seasons of Co-Curricular-Activities (CCAs) across the school year to students in Grades KG3-12, providing a fun and engaging extension to the academic curriculum, and with the vast majority of options provided at no cost to participants.
The ‘SchoolsBuddy’ online registration platform is used to provide families with an overview of the activities on offer, as well as a detailed schedule once registration is confirmed. CCA sessions run daily from 3:25PM until 4:25PM; however, Secondary Sports practices end at 5:00pm. There are limited activity offerings on Wednesdays due to teacher engagement in after-school meetings.
In addition to Arts education in IST’s formal curriculum, we also offer a range of additional experiences in visual art, music, dance and drama that cater to individual interests and which engage each student’s brain, body and emotions in different ways to encourage their confidence and ability to find joy in self-expression.
